Fun simple little game. I have played a lot of games with this style of puzzle, but the dog/cat theming you did really made it worthwhile; everything is very cute!

One feature that would be nice to have is an incremental rewind. IE you can hit 'X' to rewind a single step as opposed to having to re-do the whole route when you're off by 1 or 2 length. But thats quite a bit more work than a full reset feature, still a fun game without it!

cccmccc responds:

Thanks so much for the feedback! the single-step reset sounds like it would have been preferred by a few people, and i think i agree XD i'll take your words to heart, thank you a bunch for playing!

What a surreal little experience lol. I enjoyed it, mostly the oddity of the questions and the animations you get at the end!

Suggestions:
- All the links in the description are broken. They include the final ")" in the url, which is messing everything up
- Sometimes text is off of the screen and you can barreely see it. But you cannot scroll the viewport to see it. Maybe lower the text size or if twine allows it, add a scrollbar?

maruki responds:

Hey there! I've fixed the scrollbar issue, let me know if it's working for you! Also fixed the links in the descriptions. And thanks for telling me!

Oh wow I really enjoyed this game! Once I got a hang of it I really got into the second-to-second action & choosing my upgrade path felt nice and rewarding. Something I especially appreciated was the banter back and forth at the bottom. It was quick, easy to read and added a lot of flavour to the game overall. I would love to see you expand this game out with a a couple more levels!

A few small suggestions:
- Fullscreen would make this game amazing! (Note I manually went FS with the js console and the game played great! Except that if you stretch the bounds of the canvas it makes it more difficult to get the player right to the borders of the screen)
- I feel like the initial week enemies shouldn't home in on you. This is to make the first wave easier and give the player more time to get used to dodging things in 3D space. Later on you could have enemies with the same HP that home in of course.

Niborious7 responds:

Wow, Thanks!

I was worried about how the 128x128 screen size would feel on a larger screen, but I could add a fullscreen option if you preferred playing that way.

Really enjoyed the game. The difficulty curve was spot on in my opinion. I think the game could have gone on longer (and continued to be more difficult) but you have to stop somewhere!

Thanks for the game!

i've really enjoyed your comment, thank YOU for your kind words. (:

Okay so I have now beaten the game twice out of 4 tries.

First two tries I didn't have really any idea what I was doing and gave up after I felt like there was no way I was going to come back.

Win 1) I won without using any upgrades, I didn't notice that their were upgrades on the last page of the up/down menu system. Because of this it took a long time and was verryyy difficult.

Win 2) I spent some time poking through the menus and finally noticed that can upgrade your income/stockpile size etc. This win was very easy as I had tonnes of cash and good units.

I really enjoyed this game as you can likely guess by the number of times I have played it!

My main suggestions:
a) Improve the UI in the game to make it easier to see what each unit type does/how much HP etc. Also somehow tell the player that upgrading thier income is very important.

b) Just put all this info in the description. You already have a 'Tutorial' section, just go into more detail. I looked at this when I was initially stuck and I think if it had just said "Castle Upgrades are on the final page of the menu, these are very important!" I would have had a lot easier of a time.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun, just took a bit of effort, thanks for the game!

Thanks for taking your time to make the review !
I will definitely add info about upgrade in the description.
Happy you enjoyed the game.

Interesting game! I almost stopped playing because it seemed just like a general platformer with not real unique features until I lost my legs. I enjoyed the "de-evolution" idea that seemed to be at play here, but I wish you had done a bit more with it tbh (a few more stages of devolution or have something more impactful happen when you lose your arms etc etc.)

Notes:
- No resume game system, not a big deal but :(
- Graphics are quite nice
- Controls feel a bit "sticky" on occasion oddly (during stopping and starting)

Reviewed with Chrome on Windows

AdventureIslands responds:

More lost limbs would have definitely had more impact, but it was already tough enough to get the game done with the 48 hour time limit.

Originally the character was supposed to be able to shoot beams and he would lose that ability first, but I had to cut that out.

Sweet

I initially played this game a bunch on FGL, liked it a lot then, been waiting for it to show up here. I really like the whole concept of firing your enemies back at them, but the best part of the game was the atmosphere I think, especially the final level.

I read a couple other reviews saying that the last boss was to hard :S, not true I actually found him quite easy tbh. Either way, had a great time with this game (9 cuz I wish it was longer lol).

ps: the purple explosions that happen when you kill the final boss are epic

I-smel responds:

I think people are sayin it's hard cos they're having glitches all over the place.

Interesting

The brus is kinda crazy and btw is the starting language supposed to be french? I played it and the whole thing was in french luckely I can speak semi fluent french so it wasnt TOO bad but the whole time i was thikning "this is an english website why would they make it in french" but then I noticed the english change button :D
But besides that I thought it was pretty good.

SubmitFlash responds:

Thanks! Im glad you feel that way about it [ :

Improvment needed

Ok so i think the overall idea of this game was funny and original but unfortunatly the gameplay was not up to spec. The graphics were kind of funny but there were very few animations fr the taost guy and the little toasters seemed way out of porportion. The sound, well the music anoyed me....alot BUT the sound when you hit the bottom of the blocks was excelent and most of the sound affects were fairly good. The gameplay.....well unfortunatly when you jump you go up/down waaay to fast and the controls just feel jerky.
Overall i think this couldv been somthing fun but unfortuantly the gameplay was what really killed it for me (i.e. the jumping)

-ps why is it that when you fall of a cliff you turn into burnt toast ? :P lol

Hacker12 responds:

Lol its a fire pi lol. But yeah thanks for the input ^^. But come on cut me some slack its my first attempt at a platformer.
